War between Taliban (backed by NATO) (1) and Northern Alliance (which was lead by Commander Massoud) (2).
Is the sharia the Law?
in Pakistan (Swat valley, etc): no.
in Afghanistan:
- controlled by Taliban: yes.
- controlled by Northern Alliance: no.

Notes
(1) Explanation how Taliban was controlled by NATO maximally reduced: Mullah Omar, the leader of the Taliban, ordered the destruction of the Buddha statues of Bamyan, March 2001, immediately after receiving the order from the CIA. The goal was to pave the way (using the acceptance by association technique) for the occupation ("attack to") of Afghanistan, which in the script was to follow shortly after 9/11.

(2) One of the three most successful tasks during operation 9/11 was to be able to murder Commander Ahmed Shad Massoud exactly the day it was planned (September 9, 2001).
To understand how important that was, it is enough to point out that 9/11 would have not take place on September 11, one of the most important symbols for "human cattle in the slaughterhouse".
Rather the illuminati would wait a little longer and try first a second murder attempt.
